BoyAndDodoSculpture by MumboJumbo BoyAndDodoSculpture by MumboJumbo
I had the pleasure of working with the incredible Vince Nguyen [link] here at Blue Sky on this piece! This sculpture is based on his character he designed for a children’s book. (I'll try scanning in the drawing I used to create this scupt) I must say, these talented folks I work with in the design dept. sure keep me busy with all these "SIMPLE" designs. Hard and time consuming to sculpt, but so fun nonetheless!

The helmet is detachable.

More to come!

Super Sculpey
Stands about 7 inches
Lots of sanding, though could be sanded lots more..ah well.
Lost track of time it took to sculpt

He's so adorable!
I don't know why, but, this little boy and his unique mount remind me of the children's book series Harold and the Purple Crayon...

You sand it after you bake?

I didn't know you could do that. What grit of sand paper do you use?

How does it not fall over? Do you use wires inside?
Reply
:iconmumbojumbo:
MumboJumbo Featured By Owner Jul 5, 2007
Hey there. Yes there is an armature (wire bones) in the character, which is stuck into the base. Thus the reason why it can stand :) I may upload some pics of the process of this one..we'll see :D
