Hi my lovely art friends!!
Hope everyone is doing well! I wanted to update my journal for many reasons.
One being that I miss you guys!!
Two, I got to be apart of a great photo-shoot with my co-worker/friend Diana. This shoot was basically to showcase a new line of purses for coach. Here's the behind the scenes to the shoot...bunkertales.blogspot.com/. I'll post the final photos when she updates her blog!! (btw, I'm, by no means, a professional model, just helped her out for this shoot ) haha.
Third, just wanted to give a shout out to my husband, He just landed a job in the talent development program at Disney's Feature Animation studio in Burbank, California!! I'm so very proud of him, he's super talented and very deserving of this great opportunity! I hope everyone will support him while he's there. I miss him very much!
In other news, I'd like to tell you a little bit about a Blue Sky Studios 3D animation art show, happening at the Norman Rockwell Museum!!
There's going to be a lot of behind the scenes artwork including a replica of our own sculpting room, with shelves full of old and new maquettes!! Should be a fun time!
For more information on how to RSVP go here: www.nrm.org/2011/05/ice-age-to…
Also, I just finished a few sculpts! Hope to share them with you soon, so stay tuned!
Love always,
Alena

Art and life!
Hey, howdy, hello!!
I'm alive and well, been working in zbrush a lot lately, so I don't have much to share with you guys. All of the sculpts I've been working on are copyright and I can't seems to find time to do my personal work to share...so that's why I've been quiet. I haven't forgot about you guys, I pop on here occasionally, seems like a lot of people are moving to facebook now a days. So much inspiration every where you look :)
What's new with me? I've been learning the ways of relief sculpting, it's challenging in many ways! I actually sculpted a relief for a charity art auction, called Art Blocks for Ghana. Artist from Blue Sky Stu
Vote!
Hi All!!!
I've been super busy with work and my husband that I haven't had any time to work on my personal work :( But that aside, I wanted to shout out to my friends for all the amazing support they give me here on DA!!!!
Would you be so kind and forward that support to my colleague, Audrey Bagley!! The voting ends Aug. 30
If you could cast your votes for her beautiful cover artwork for a magazine here in NY, it would mean a lot to her!

I wanted to shout out to the world about an amazing documentary that was so heartfelt and so inspiring....made by two colleagues at Blue Sky Studios, Chad Walker and Dave Lamattina... called Brownstones to Red Dirt . This documentary is about a pen pal program that focuses on a group of at-risk sixth graders living in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn and orphans, of the war, living in Freetown, Sierra Leone..It's through the pen pal program that these kids

I've actually gone there with my mom when this was at the Norman Rockwell Museum, and even meet character designer Peter De Seve.
